Pricing

Prices quoted are generally valid for 30 days unless agreed otherwise. Allow for possible variation in unit packaging costs if you are using a price quoted for some tender that may be months ahead.

Quantity and Quotes

When a quotation is requested, it is important to understand that a price for 1000 lots is the price of an order of 1000. If you only require 250 lots, the price will almost certainly go up. It's also true that if you ask for 1000 price and you then need to order 2000 lots, you could expect to get a lower price.

Be careful, when an order is placed for specially produced boxes there is a risk of 10% variation on the actual quantity ordered. Another important factor that can impact on volume is the storage space needed to store corrugated boxes. Make sure you know the volume of space required to store the corrugated boxes you order.

Box Costings

When a box is die-cut, a cutting form is needed. This is usually charged as a once-off charge. Cost of forms can vary from under 700 Rand up to 2000 Rand depending on the size and complexity of the job.

When the job is printed, even a one colour reference print, there is usually a small stereo cost. As the print becomes more complex, there would be artwork and stereo costs. Stereo costs are nearly always quoted subject to the sight of customer artwork.

Samples

Samples are generally provided to confirm the size of a new job so it's very important that it is checked with the full content of the actual goods. Samples are generally handmade, either hand cut, cad cut or laser cut.

As a result, the actual sample produced will appear to vary slightly in board thickness from factory production because of the effect of pressure on the flutes and on the boxes produced through the factory.
